This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you and MacMeUp for any MacMeUp app, including its updates, documentation and any licence key (together, the “Software”). It applies to free apps and to apps you buy from the MacMeUp Store. By downloading, installing or using the Software you agree to this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software, and, if you bought it, you may ask for a refund under our Refund Policy.

If an app is published under an open-source licence (as stated in the app, its repository or its download page), that licence applies to it instead of sections 2 to 4 of this EULA.

1. Licence, not sale

The Software is licensed, not sold. MacMeUp and its licensors keep all rights, title and interest in the Software, including all intellectual property rights. You receive only the rights expressly granted in this EULA.

2. What you may do

Free Software. You may download, install and use free Software on any number of Macs that you own or control, for personal or internal business use.

Paid Software. Once you have paid, MacMeUp grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on the number of Macs shown on the product page at the time of purchase (for example, up to 2 Macs), each owned or controlled by you. If the product is sold with a time limit, the licence lasts for that period; otherwise it is perpetual for the version you bought and the updates described in section 6.

You may make a reasonable number of backup copies of the Software, provided they are not used on more Macs than your licence allows.

3. Activation

Paid Software must be activated with a licence key. Activation and periodic check-ins require an internet connection. The app then stores a cryptographically signed token on your Mac that lets it keep working offline for a period; if it cannot reach our licence server for longer than that period, it may ask you to reconnect. You can move a licence by deactivating it in the app on one Mac and activating it on another. If you can no longer reach the old Mac, contact us and we will free the slot.

The activation process sends limited information to our licence server, as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. What you may not do

Except as allowed by law or by an open-source licence that applies to a component, you may not:

Free Software may be redistributed only by linking to its official download page on macmeup.com, unless we have given you written permission or its licence says otherwise.

5. System-level changes and your responsibility

Some Software performs system-level tasks, such as creating bootable installers, mounting the EFI System Partition, changing boot arguments, NVRAM or startup settings, changing Gatekeeper or other security preferences, or working with OpenCore and OpenCore Legacy Patcher. These actions can stop a Mac from starting, erase data, or reduce the protection provided by macOS security features. Before using the Software you should:

You are responsible for deciding whether to perform these actions on your devices.

6. Updates and support

We may release updates that fix bugs, add features or keep the Software compatible with new macOS versions. Paid licences include updates for the major version you bought. Later major versions may require a paid upgrade, which we will make clear before you buy. We offer reasonable support by email and in the Community, but we do not guarantee response times or that every Mac or macOS version will remain supported.

7. Third-party components

The Software may include or download open-source and other third-party components (for example, macOS installers from Apple, OpenCore, or open-source libraries). Those components are subject to their own licences, which are listed in the app or its documentation and take precedence for those components. MacMeUp does not distribute Apple's software; where an app downloads macOS or other Apple software, it does so from Apple's own servers, and your use of it is governed by Apple's licence terms.

8. Termination

This EULA stays in effect until it ends. Your licence ends automatically if you break this EULA, if the payment for it is refunded, reversed or charged back, or, for a time-limited licence, when its term expires. When it ends you must stop using the paid features and delete the Software. Sections 1, 4, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.

9. Limited warranty and disclaimer

For paid Software, we warrant that for 14 days from purchase the Software will substantially perform as described on its product page when used on a supported Mac and macOS version. If it does not, your remedy is a full refund under our Refund Policy, or a fix if we can provide one.

Except for that limited warranty and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Software is provided “as is”, with all faults and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and that the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free. Free Software is provided without any warranty.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MacMeUp is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or business, or the cost of repairing or replacing hardware or software, arising from the use of or inability to use the Software, even if we were advised of the possibility. Our total liability under this EULA is limited to the amount you paid for the Software, or US$50 for free Software.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in this EULA limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

11. Export and sanctions

You may not use, export or re-export the Software in breach of any applicable export control or sanctions laws.

12. General

This EULA, together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, is the entire agreement between you and MacMeUp about the Software. It is governed by the law set out in section 15 of the Terms of Use. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. We may update this EULA for future versions of the Software; the version that applied when you bought or installed a version continues to apply to that version.

13. Trademarks

Apple, the Apple logo, Mac, macOS, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, Mac Pro, Finder and Safari are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions. MacMeUp is an independent developer and is not affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, endorsed or otherwise approved by Apple Inc. All other product names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.
