EFI access, without the Terminal

ESP Mounter finds every EFI System Partition on your connected disks — internal, external, removable, and even inside disk images — and mounts them in Finder with one click, so you can edit boot configs or check bootloader files without typing a single diskutil command.

It automatically detects OpenCore and Clover installations, flags your active boot disk, and can clone an EFI folder from one disk to another with an automatic backup.

Guide

How to use ESP Mounter

  1. Launch ESP Mounter — it automatically scans internal, external, and removable disks for EFI partitions.
  2. Select the disk containing the EFI partition you want to access; your active boot disk and any detected OpenCore/Clover bootloader are flagged automatically.
  3. Click Mount (or double-click the partition) to mount it and open it in Finder.
  4. Edit, copy, or back up EFI files directly in Finder — use the built-in copy tool to clone an EFI folder to another disk, with an automatic backup of anything it overwrites.
  5. When you're finished, unmount the partition from ESP Mounter before removing the drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers.

Why do I need to mount the EFI partition?
The EFI System Partition (ESP) is hidden by default. Mounting it is necessary to update bootloaders like OpenCore or modify kexts without using complex Terminal commands.
Is ESP Mounter safe to use?
Yes, ESP Mounter safely mounts the partition. However, you should only modify EFI files if you know what you are doing, as deleting critical files can prevent your Mac from booting.
How do I open apps blocked by macOS Gatekeeper?
macOS Gatekeeper may flag apps from unidentified developers. To open them, right-click (or Control-click) the app icon and select "Open" from the context menu, or learn more here.
